VINOUS – Antonio GALLONI – Avril 2016
Score : 93-96/100.
“The 2016 Sansonnet is a flat-out stunner. Vivid, rich and beautifully delineated from the very first taste, the 2016 manages to remain translucent and light on its feet despite its considerable richness. Graphite, lavender, plum, violet and sweet spices give the wine its captivating, exotic bouquet. Sansonnet has long been produced in a heavily extracted style. The 2016 is the first vintage made with gentle extractions, which allows the fruit and aromatics to come through with striking purity. This wine is dazzling – it’s as simple as that. Jean-Philippe Fort is the consultant. Tasted two times.”

WINESPECTATOR – James MOLESWORTH – Avril 2017
Score : 91-94/100.
“On the gutsier side, with dark plum and currant fruit as well as a mouthfilling brambly note, but it’s all integrated and energetic, with definition to match the heft. For fans of the more powerful style.”

The Wine Advocate – Neal MARTIN – Avril 2016
Score : 91-93/100.
“The 2016 Sansonnet is a blend of 85% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon matured in 80% new oak. It has a very intense, quite floral bouquet with an exotic touch that fortunately is nicely contained. The palate is medium-bodied with that Cabernet imparting a little rigidity to the tannin and a touch of graphite, but with very fine structure and focus, plenty of freshness on the finish. This may well surpass the 2016”.

“Dense and velvety-textured red with extremely attractive blackberry and stone character. Mineral and floral. This shows less extraction than in the past and delivers.”

« Ce petit bijou de cru de sept hectares à Saint-Emilion, administré par Marie-Bénédicte Lefévère, jouxte le premier grand cru classé Trotte Vieille. Les derniers millésimes s’enchaînent avec succès. Le merlot, largement majoritaire avec 85%, donne au vin la suavité et le moelleux empreints d’une finesse remarquable. Le travail réalisé a été récompensé par le nouveau classement. »

Jean-Marc QUARIN – Carnet n°81 – Avril 2017
Note : 94-95/100.
Superbe!

GAULT & MILLAU – Avril 2017

« Frais, fruité, prune, violette un peu. Juteux, bouche ronde, droiture et massif. Une très belle bouteille. Rapport qualité/prix superbe ».

Jeff LEVE – Avril 2017

“Powerful, mouth filling, rich, opulent and fresh, there is intensity and concentration with flavorful bands of fat juiciness, licorice and black plums so ripe you’ll want to suck on the stone. You’re going to like this wine. Its masterful essence will linger in your mind for hours. From a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, this is the best vintage of Sansonnet yet. I know I’ve said it before, but this time I really mean it!”

BECKUSTATOR – Yves BECK – Avril 2017
Score : 93-94/100.
“Pourpre violacé intense. Bouquet complexe, intense, révélant des notes de fèves de cacao, griottes, mûres ainsi que des myrtilles. Mise en bouche élégante, friande et fruitée. Un vin de toute beauté, crémeux, équilibré. Belle symbiose entre la structure et les tannins. Ces derniers présentent un grain fin et sont parfaitement intégrés. Finale fruitée et persistante. Belle réussite. On est parti pour 25 ans.” 2022-2046.

Chris KISSACK – Wine Doctor – Avril 2017
Score : 92-94/100.
« The vines in this 7-hectare vineyard are 85% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit was picked from the 5th October, starting with the youngest Merlots, followed by older Merlots on 17th October, then Cabernet Franc on 20th October and Cabernet Sauvignon on 24th October. After sorting using densitometry, the grapes saw a cold soak, before fermentation and then élevage in new French oak. It is an incredibly dark, glossy, inky wine. The nose is all roasted fruit, deep, slightly, smudged in character, slightly introverted as well, without the lift and wilful expression some in the vintage show. The palate follows on in the same vein, with a rich bed of dark fruit, with a slight loss of definition here, although it does show some sweetly defined blackcurrant and damson character, along with a backbone of highly extracted tannin, which dries out and dominates the finish. Modern, but it has a sense of charm and confidence.”
